The report states that Dr. Kabir Garg, a 33-year-old residing in Lewisham, South-east London, was identified by the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) as one of the individuals responsible for running "The Annex" website. This website, which had a global membership exceeding 90,000, was involved in facilitating child sex abuse.

"Garg was involved in facilitating child sexual abuse on a significant scale. He used the dark web to access a global community of paedophiles sharing and discussing horrific crimes against children," NCA’s Adam Priestley said in a statement.

"There are hundreds of thousands of members of such sites on the dark web, but few of them are prepared to commit to being a member of staff, which involves dedicating a lot of time for no payment," the official added.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that Dr. Kabir Garg possessed more than 7,000 indecent images and videos. Additionally, he had in his possession several medical journal articles, including one titled 'A Study on Child Abuse India'.

According to the report, the National Crime Agency (NCA) determined that Garg initially started as a member but actively worked his way up to gain trust within the community. As a result, he was eventually invited to become a moderator on the website. His role as a moderator involved enforcing site rules and removing members who failed to comply with them.
