Devraj Patel, the renowned comedian and YouTuber from Chhattisgarh, known for his viral "Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai" meme, tragically lost his life in a road accident on June 26. The 22-year-old, hailing from Mahasamund, had gained immense popularity through a video that featured his now-iconic one-liner "Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai Bhai," expressing his anguish towards hate and mockery directed at his content. This emotional appeal video first surfaced in 2019 and has since been widely shared.
According to the police, Patel was riding a motorcycle when a speeding truck collided with him from behind. Just a few hours before the accident, he had posted a video on his Instagram page.
Devraj Patel even had the opportunity to collaborate with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and their video together garnered significant attention on social media. Following the tragic accident, Mr. Baghel expressed his condolences in a tweet, paying tribute to the departed influencer.
"Devraj Patel, who made his place among millions with 'Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai,' bringing smiles to our faces, left us today. It is extremely saddening to lose such incredible talent at such a young age. May God give strength to his family and loved ones to overcome this loss. Om Shanti," Mr. Baghel tweeted alongside a video featuring him and Devraj Patel.
Some time ago, Patel had shared a video announcing his move to Raipur. Additionally, he was also featured in the pilot episode of popular Indian YouTuber Bhuvan Bam's web series, "Dhindora," in 2021.
