Hamilton articulated his heightened motivation and focus for the upcoming season, emphasizing his dedication to preparation. He acknowledged feeling a level of hunger and determination that he hadn't anticipated at this stage in his career, expressing a desire to conclude his tenure with Mercedes on a high note.

The British driver, who has enjoyed unparalleled success with Mercedes since joining in 2013, emphasized the significance of finishing strongly with the team. He emphasized the bond forged over the years and expressed his willingness to contribute to Mercedes' return to championship contention.

Despite Hamilton's impending departure, both he and Mercedes are gearing up for a competitive final season together. Following a shakedown of the all-new W15 car at a wet Silverstone, Hamilton's 12th and final season with Mercedes will kick off in earnest with three days of pre-season testing in Bahrain starting on Wednesday, February 21. The testing sessions will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1 from 7 am each day.

Hamilton's departure marks the end of an era for Mercedes, with the team preparing to bid farewell to the most successful driver in F1 history. However, with George Russell set to replace Hamilton in 2025, the team faces a transitional period.

Reflecting on Hamilton's departure, F1 pundit Martin Brundle believes that the team will treat the season as a farewell tour, ensuring that Hamilton receives the recognition he deserves. However, he also acknowledges the logistical challenges of transitioning to a new driver, with Hamilton likely to be excluded from certain meetings as the season progresses.

Despite the impending changes, Mercedes remains focused on the immediate task at hand: preparing for the 24-race season ahead. With pre-season testing providing a crucial opportunity to fine-tune the new car, the team is eager to hit the ground running in Bahrain.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled for February 29 to March 2, will mark the opening race of the 2024 season. Due to the Muslim holy period of Ramadan, both the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will be held on Saturdays, with practice sessions taking place on Thursdays and Fridays.
