Following the recent race, Arturo Elias Ayub, a prominent Mexican Businessperson with an estimated net worth of $10 billion, commended Max Verstappen's exceptional performance on the track. However, he subtly implied that there might be more at play than just skill when it comes to Verstappen's success.
Ayub hinted that Verstappen's car could be engineered differently from that of his teammate Sergio Perez, providing him with a distinct advantage.
Ayub highlighted the substantial 22-second gap between Verstappen and Perez at the race's conclusion, suggesting that such a significant disparity in performance can't solely be attributed to the drivers' abilities. In an interview with Marca, he stated, "I have no doubt that Max Verstappen is the best driver on the grid, but to get a 20-second lead from Checo, in P2... is because his car HAS TO BE much faster than the others."
Sergio Perez, who has faced intense scrutiny, seems to have solidified his position at Red Bull with recent podium finishes in Hungary and Belgium. Despite this improvement, Hans-Joachim Stuck, a former Le Mans winner, believes that Daniel Ricciardo would be a better fit for the Red Bull seat.
Stuck acknowledged the expressions of confidence from Christian Horner and Helmut Marko in Perez's capabilities, but he emphasized Ricciardo's worthiness for the role. Stuck suggested that Ricciardo's skillset is well-suited for Formula 1 and that he would shine in a better car. He expressed his hope that Ricciardo would become Verstappen's teammate, indicating his preference for the Australian driver.
Sergio Perez currently holds the second position in the driver's standings with 189 points, while Ricciardo is yet to secure his first points this season after participating in two races. With teams introducing new upgrades after the summer break, the adaptation of Ricciardo to his AlphaTauri vehicle in the remaining ten races remains a point of interest.
The dynamics within Red Bull Racing continue to attract attention, with observers eagerly awaiting decisions that could reshape the team's lineup and potentially impact the remainder of the Formula 1 season.
